Club House

From its beginnings, nearly 60 years ago, the clubhouse has grown to meet the demands of it members.

The key area downstairs is the main room, with its large bay area extending out over the lake, giving glorious panoramic views.

During the day this is the wet area for the sailors and a games area for the younger members. At night, it is transformed into an excellent social venue for meetings, parties and similar functions.  For these events, the compact galley plays a vital role in producing excellent refreshments.

The bar has excellent facilities and is a pleasant area for watching the sailing. The atmosphere of the Hollingworth bar is legendary throughout the country. As in other areas, volunteer club members staff the bar.

There are well-equipped changing rooms, with the Ladies changing room being downstairs and the Gents on the first floor. Upstairs, there is also a meeting room and the control office for the racing.

Sailing Facilities
Dinghy Storage

The club has hard standing facilities for 70 dinghies in a locked enclosure.

2 slip-ways feed down into a small sheltered harbour off the main lake.  Often, crews can launch their boats
without the helm even getting their feet wet.

Support Boats

The club has 3 patrol boats.  A patrol boat is on the water at all times during racing or training events.  One of these is also often used for race management purposes.

Accommodation

Like most sailing clubs, accommodation is not plentiful, but there is even some within walking distance of the bar.  Here are some of the local places to stay.
