Further Details

There are active Class Associations that support sailors in each of the classes of dinghies sailed by Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club.  These Class Associations control and guide the development of the class and organise the major racing and training events.  Further details of the activities of each of the Class Associations can be found on the websites.

The overall authority that controls all the racing in the country is of course the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).  This is no "old fashioned gentleman's club":  The RYA has played a major part in the development of sailing in this country, the protection of the interests of sailors on both inland and offshore and lastly, but by no means least, overseen the training and development of the sailors who brought back 10 medals from the Sydney and Athens Olympics.

The club is very lucky in having close ties with the neighbouring Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre.  The centre organises a large range of "on the water" and other outdoor activities.
