Learning to sail in a Mirror dinghy
![]() |
After the success of British sailors at the last 2 Olympics, the RYA training schemes are seen as some of the most successful in the country in any sport. The RYA Mirror Armada Club Project is a new initiative aimed at introducing even more young people in to the sport. Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club is the only club in the North West of England to be granted Mirror Armada Club status. Through the OnBoard scheme, The Club has received additional funding to allow it to purchase another new Mirror dinghy and the necessary equipment needed by course participants. In addition more club members have trained to become RYA Dinghy Instructors or RYA Club Racing Coaches. A variety of courses and junior races are being held through the year aimed at increasing the numbers of young people sailing and racing. |
