If you want to find out what sailing is all about then the perfect way is to arrange to come along to the club and go out on the water with one of our club members for a Taster Session (which normally lasts for about 1½ hours) for which there is a charge of £15.
If you wish to arrange to come for a Taster Session please e-mail your contact details (ideally including your mobile phone number) off to us at email@example.com. We run taster sessions from time to time depending on the interest shown and also when there is a suitable ‘slot’ in our club’s other activities. Normally we arrange for these taster sessions to be held on either Sunday mornings or, during the summer months, Friday evenings. If you are contacting us about having a taster session then letting us know your most suitable dates would greatly assist us.
We are currently in our winter shutdown period and this year’s sailing season commences on Sunday 4th March. If you would like to arrange to come for a Taster Session between then and the start of first training course, please e-mail your contact details (ideally including your mobile phone number) off to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Most of our club members got themselves ‘stuck into the sport’ by their own self-motivation and hence by learning by their own mistakes. However, following your Taster Session, if you feel the need to follow it up with some formal training sessions then we can arrange for you to go on an RYA Start Sailing course (Level 1). The dates of the two Start Sailing courses we intend running this year have not, as yet, been confirmed. However our first course is likely to be held on four Friday evenings starting in mid-May
We can provide you with much more information about how to get going with dinghy sailing when you come along for your Taster Session.
Please go to the Training at HLSC page of the website for more details.
